Job Description

This position is a key role in our organization. Working closely with the general manager, accounting, and production departments, s/he will be responsible for estimating and specification writing for company projects. This includes working with the sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure the accuracy of their numbers in our projects. This role will develop additional work-order costs as needed and create job-site folders in the production software and set-up the transition from Sales to Production. During the production phase of projects, this person will be responsible for monitoring the budget, collecting cost records from subs and suppliers, and tracking budget vs. actuals on each job. S/He will make adjustments to our cost database with the real data and manage possible line-item cost overruns to ensure an on-target pricing model overall.  After each job, performing lessons learned and job costing analysis will be expected and communicated to the team.

 

Must-Have Qualifications

Strong written and oral communication skills

Demonstrated leadership ability

Ability to work with a variety of people  

Confidence to work independently with a minimum of supervision 

Ideal Skills
Bachelor’s degree in construction management or equivalent education and training 

Minimum five (5) years in construction and estimating experience 

Competent in the use of estimating software; Hometech software experience a plus

Knowledge of scheduling software a plus

A high level of professionalism; dependable, results-focused, and ethical 

Well-organized with excellent planning skills 

Creative systems thinker with the ability to see the whole business and not just its component parts 

Works meticulously and is detailed-oriented 

High-level math proficiency 

Solves problems effectively 

Able to read drawings and specifications, and blueprints 

Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the construction field, including reading blueprints 

Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and the use of computers, tablets, and email

Bachelor’s degree in construction management or equivalent education

McBride Remodeling is currently seeking Lead Carpenters. 

Job Description

The position of Lead Carpenter consists of constructing, erecting, installing, repairing structures and fixtures out of various materials.  Working closely with Project Coordinator to achieve the proper completion of each project. 

Qualifications

Minimum five years of construction

High level of professionalism

Dependable, results-focused and ethical

Proficient in math

Solves problems effectively

Able to read drawings, blueprints and specifications

McBride Remodeling currently has an opening for an experienced carpenter helper for residential and light commercial jobs.

Job Description

Responsible for assisting Lead Carpenters and Carpenters on the job sites as needed.  Duties include cleaning the work area, equipment and assisting as necessary. Works closely with the Production Manager.

Qualifications

This is a position for someone who wants to learn and grow in the construction field. Applicants must possess a high level of professionalism, have a presentable appearance, ability to problem solve, be dependable, results-focused and ethical. Having a reliable vehicle is a must.
