Work in progress: A Sneak Peek of a Harbor Springs Remodel

This in-progress Harbor Springs remodel is shaping up to be a truly dramatic transformation. Once completed, the homeowners will have a welcoming front entrance and a completely new kitchen, dining room, and great room to enjoy. Let’s take a look at a few of the home’s future features and how we’re bringing them to life:

New Chimney and Fireplace

One of the most complex tasks in this remodel involves the renovated fireplace and chimney. The homeowners wanted to update and convert their gas fireplace to wood burning and relocate it and the chimney to the opposite wall. This also means patching up the tongue-and-groove ceiling where the original chimney used to be. Soon this family will be enjoying the crackling fire and familiar scent of firewood.

White Cabinets and Green Walls

Although this remodel is still in its construction phase, unique features are beginning to take shape. The structure on this wall is a living wall rack system that will allow the homeowners to bring all the benefits and beauty of plants and greenery right into their home. Also in place are the new white kitchen cabinets that create the updated, modern look the homeowners want.

Kitchen Convenience

Since we removed everything from the existing kitchen and family room, the homeowners are temporarily living in their lower level. To make these accommodations a bit more comfortable, we moved their appliances and equipment into a “second kitchen” for them to use in the basement. Since these homeowners need to travel for their business, they can keep track of our progress on their phones or computers through Buildertrend construction management software.

Keeping Clean

While working on any project, the McBride Remodeling team always makes sure to have a clean, organized work area with all the personal protective equipment required to keep our workers and homeowners safe and healthy. Our COVID station allows us to wash our hands even without running water and provides a central location for hand sanitizer and other cleaning supplies we may need.

Can’t wait to see the completed project? Neither can we. Stay tuned for the big reveal coming soon! In the meantime, contact us to get started on a remodel of your own.
